From an Active Runner’s Dream to Reality
In late 2017, our previous dog, Domi, a gentle English Mastiff, was nearing the end of his life. While we cherished every moment with him, Bougie Dogwear founder Lorrie, an avid runner, started dreaming of a new companion to join her on training runs.
Lorrie carefully researched breeds that could handle long-distance running, were easy to train, and wouldn’t shed. Her search led her to the perfect candidate: a standard poodle. Athletic, intelligent, and hypoallergenic, the breed ticked every box. After contacting a reputable breeder, we were thrilled to learn that a fresh litter of puppies was available. When we asked for a recommendation, the breeder selected Tilly as the ideal match for Lorrie’s active lifestyle.
At just four weeks old, Tilly stole our hearts. On January 27, 2018, she was 8 weeks old and we brought her home, from that day forward, she’s been an integral part of our lives—and our brand.

Tilly quickly proved to be everything we’d hoped for and more. Her energy and athleticism make her the perfect running buddy for Lorrie’s training sessions. Whether sprinting alongside us or chasing a frisbee with unmatched enthusiasm, Tilly exemplifies the spirit of an active, joyful dog. Her favorite activity? Fetch. Whether it’s with a tennis ball or a frisbee, Tilly could play for hours, showcasing her agility, determination, and sheer love for fun.
